About the Author
Judith Miller began collecting in the 1960s while a student at Edinburgh University in Scotland. She has since extended and reinforced her knowledge through international research, becoming one of the world's leading experts in the field. In 1979 she co-founded the best-selling Miller's Antiques Price Guide and has since written more than 100 books. Judith is an expert on the BBC's Antiques Roadshow. She has appeared on The Martha Stewart Show and CNN. She is a regular contributor to newspapers and magazines, including the Financial Times, BBC Homes & Antiques, and House & Garden. She lectures extensively, including at the Victoria and Albert Museum in London and the Smithsonian in Washington.

Mark Hill has had a lifelong passion for collectables. A former specialist at Bonhams and Sotheby's, he became a director of an online antiques and collectables trading website, running its alliance with eBay Live Auctions. He is Miller's resident collectables specialist, contributes to radio, newspapers, and magazines, is an expert on the BBC's Antiques Roadshow, and co-presented BBC2's Cracking Antiques and Antiques Uncovered. His new BBC series, Collectaholics, co-presented with Mel Giedroyc, will be broadcast in a BBC2 primetime slot later this year.

This book was written by a scholar, but intended for the inspiration of any Heathen householder.

True Hearth is a compact, well researched, and practical manual for Heathens wishing to incorporate some of the ancestral Northern spiritual themes into their normal lives. I met Jim in Texas in 1997 & was inspired to write a companion volume, "True Helm".

If you want more a more detailed text on approaching Heathen life, I would recommend Our Troth: Volume 1: History and Lore, as a more thorough and complete text book. However, True Hearth may be less intimidating than the more extensive tomes for those relatively new to this path.

True Hearth & True Helm are both still available from their publishers (just Google the titles).

True Hearth is an easy to read book on the basics of heathenry. I liked this book over "A Book Of Troth" because it lacks the anti-christian slant. Lots of good information and a great place to start learning or exploring hethenry. Not a lot of stuff on the gods, but for day to day life it's great.

Cynthia A. Freeland is Professor of Philosophy at the University of Houston. She has published on topics in the philosophy of art and film, ancient Greek philosophy, and feminist theory. Terrific book!

I found this book to do just what I had hoped. It's like a syllabus from a very smart, highly organized professor, who fleshes out the subjects just enough, and lets you know where exactly to look for more. It's concise, intelligent, and informative, and it saved me a lot of time in working out an outline on the subject (I'm an art professor myself). Cynthia Freeland -- thank you! What clarity!

This book is really interesting with many good points on the theories of art. It has expanded my view of art as well as taught me a lot about different artists and their art. By reading this book, I have expanded my own personal art theories and learned to incorporate what I have learned into my own artwork. I will definitely be using this book in my future classroom as well as in my own life.

Wow-really great to see examples of true artists' work especially since most of this is very obscure, and appears to be somewhat localised to the west coast. Makes me want to hit the road.
Understandably, as this is a collection of old photos, some images aren't as clear as if they had all been photographed for the book, but still an amazing book- well worth the money.

About the Author
"Dr Premamoy Ghosh, Ph.D., is former Professor and Head, Department of Polymer Science and Technology, Calcutta University. He is a Fellow of the Institution of Engineers, (India) and the Institute of Materials (London)––formerly, Plastics and Rubber Institute (London). He is a life member of the Indian Institute of Chemical Engineers and the Indian Association for the Cultivation of Science, Kolkata. Additionally, he is the current president of the Institute of Science, Education and Culture (ISEC), Kolkata, and chairman of the Editorial Board of its journal Indian Science Cruiser. Dr Ghosh is also a member of the editorial board of the Journal of Polymer Materials, M.D. Publications, New Delhi, and a former member of the editorial board of the Indian Journal of Technology, CSIR, New Delhi. Dr Ghosh was born in 1936. He acquired his B.Sc. (Applied Chemistry) in 1958, and went on to do his Ph.D. (Polymer––Chemistry) in 1962—both from Calcutta University. He researches on polymer synthesis/modification, photopolymerization, polymerization kinetics and mechanistics, polymer microstructure, random, block and graft copolymerization, rubber compounding and vulcanization, reactive processing of polymers, polymer finishes on fibres and textiles, conducting polymers, polymer blends and composites, and polymer rheology and morphology. Dr Ghosh has so far published more than 320 research publications and review articles. He has authored two books titled Fibre Science and Technology (2004) and Adhesives and Coatings Technology (2008), both published by Tata McGraw-Hill. He has also written books on Society Science and Spiritualism in Bengali language, including one in an autobiographical style and another as a collection of poems."
